Round 9: Perth Glory vs Melbourne Victory

Perth Glory secured only its second home win of the A-League season with a fine performance against Melbourne Victory.

There was drama at the beginning when Glory striker Damian Mori could not get his wedding ring off. Mori was unable to take the ring off and Perth coach Steve McMahon had no option but to replace him with Brian Deane.

A controversial goal at the 55th minute saw Glory take a sweet 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory. The final score 2-1.

Newcastle Jets downed Adelaide United in a six-goal (2-4) Friday night thriller.

Adelaide was looking to bounce back from its controversial loss to Sydney last weekend, whereas Newcastle was humbled by Perth Glory 1-5. In the light of last weeks matches United were clear favourites.

The Jets went up two goals quickly in the first half. United scored one in the first half and then shot an equaliser in the 67th minute. However one minute later and the Jets were up again, followed by a 89th minute fourth goal.
