Socceroos to shoot for win

The Socceroos will be shooting to win when they tackle Croatia in Stuttgart tomorrow morning for a place in the second round of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Australia posted a record making win when they came from behind to humble the Japanese 3-1 in their opening World Cup match. Those 3 goals were the first scored by Australia in a World Cup Finals having played three previous matches in the 1974 World Cup Finals without troubling the scoreboard.

Will there be more history in the making tomorrow morning?

Harry Kewell is available for the Socceroos after FIFA decided against taking action for his post-match outburst at German referee Markus Merk in their second game against the reigning World Champions Brazil

Australia only needs a draw against Croatia to progress to the round of 16 while the Croats must win.

Socceroos boss Guus Hiddink said, "This team is going to try to win. It's impossible to be a director of a draw."
